Choosing an office waste receptacle involves more than matching capacity to the room. Placement, access, liner management, appearance, and daily usability all affect whether the receptacle works well in a shared workspace. The Safco Ellipse Step-On – 7.5 Gallon addresses those considerations with a step-on lid, a compact corner-friendly shape, and a rigid plastic liner with a built-in bag retainer.

Who should consider the Safco Ellipse Step-On?
This receptacle is a practical fit for offices, private workspaces, and other areas where hands-free disposal is preferred. Its 7 1/2-gallon capacity suits locations that need more room than a small desk wastebasket but do not require a large floor receptacle.
The shape is a particularly useful buying factor. Because the receptacle is designed to fit neatly into workspace corners, it can make better use of limited floor space near desks, workstations, or other office fixtures.
Key buying factors
- Capacity: The 7 1/2-gallon volume provides a useful middle-ground size for everyday office waste.
- Hands-free operation: The step-on design allows users to open the lid without touching the receptacle.
- Controlled closing: A soft-close lid helps the lid return more quietly and smoothly.
- Appearance: The fingerprint-proof finish helps maintain a cleaner-looking exterior in frequently used areas.
- Bag management: The rigid plastic liner includes a built-in bag retainer to help hold the waste bag in place.
- Placement: Its corner-fitting shape is useful when floor space is constrained.
Construction and dimensions
The Ellipse Step-On has a metal frame and requires no assembly. It measures 15 inches wide, 13.5 inches deep, and 26.5 inches high, giving buyers clear dimensions to compare against the available space beneath or beside a workstation.
The rigid plastic liner is a practical feature for routine maintenance. Along with the built-in bag retainer, it supports a more orderly liner setup and helps keep the receptacle ready for regular use.
When this model makes sense
Choose the Safco Ellipse Step-On – 7.5 Gallon when a workspace needs a medium-capacity receptacle with hands-free access, a soft-close lid, and a finish intended to resist visible fingerprints. It is especially well suited to buyers who want a receptacle that can sit close to a corner without taking up unnecessary room.
Before selecting it, confirm that the 7 1/2-gallon capacity and 26.5-inch height match the room’s waste volume and available clearance. For buyers who need a smaller companion option, Safco also offers the Ellipse Step-On in a 3-gallon model.
